Head of In Vivo Pharmacology

Recludix Pharma is a venture capital-funded biotechnology company formed in 2019 and located in San Diego, California and Cambridge, Massachusetts.  We are engaged in small molecule drug discovery for the treatment of targeted patient populations in oncology and other therapeutic areas.  Recludix Pharma is looking for experienced candidates who desire to work in a dynamic early-stage startup environment as a member of our San Diego team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced in vivo pharmacologist to lead Recludix Pharma’s in vivo pharmacology effort.  A successful candidate will have extensive experience leading in vivo PK/PD and efficacy studies both internally and externally, along with deep familiarity with oncology and/or autoimmune disease models.  The candidate should have a track record of being the pharmacology lead for small molecule drug discovery projects and successfully guiding the generation of compelling in vivo data packages.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and access appropriate in vivo models for oncology and autoimmune disease indications.
  • Conceptualize, design, and guide the execution of in vivo studies performed both internally and externally.
  • Develop strategies to demonstrate utility of inhibitors in relevant in vivo disease models.  Assemble data packages.
  • Build, manage and mentor a small internal in vivo pharmacology team.
  • Collaborate closely within a Project Team environment to achieve drug discovery goals and objectives.
  • Clearly and concisely present hypotheses, strategies, and project progress at interdisciplinary team meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. with 8+ years of experience and proven success leading an in vivo pharmacology effort, using a rigorous and creative approach to scientific problem solving, as evidenced by publications and a record of accomplishment.
  • Deep knowledge of in vivo models in oncology and/or autoimmunity.
  • Substantial familiarity working with contract research organizations.
  • Strong technical expertise in in vivo biology, including PK/PD and efficacy studies.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
