Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Discovery Technology

Recludix Pharma is a venture capital-funded biotechnology company located in San Diego, California and Cambridge, Massachusetts.  We are engaged in small molecule drug discovery for the treatment of targeted patient populations in oncology and autoimmune disease.  Recludix Pharma is looking for experienced candidates who desire to work in a dynamic early-stage startup environment as a member of our San Diego team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an outstanding scientist with proven cellular and biochemical assay skills. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated key team player able to multitask in a small, fast-paced environment, working to discover novel transformative medicines for an undruggable target class.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and analyze quantitative biochemical and cellular assays for small molecule inhibitor evaluation.
  • Develop and validate new biochemical and cellular assays, utilizing novel and creative technology.
  • Reagent preparation and keeping inventory up to date.
  • Clearly and concisely present results and recommendations at routine group meetings, and, as required, at core drug discovery project team meetings.
  • Accurate data upload to corporate database in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the biology and chemistry teams.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in cell-based and biochemical assays essential.
  • Proven and successful experience with complex low-to-medium throughput drug characterization assays essential.
  • Ability to independently fit and analyze data using appropriate models desirable.
  • Previous experience in drug development highly preferred.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills across the primary team and all company functions essential.
