Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Formulation Sciences leader to help guide our small molecule portfolio in inflammation and oncology through IND and clinical development. A successful candidate will have a strong background in formulation sciences, a proven track record of leading small molecule programs from preclinical through marketing approval, and experience managing teams and building a department.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage formulation development department activities for small molecule drug products, including design, planning, execution, interpretation and reporting of scientific experiments.
- Oversee the development and manufacture of oral and other dosage forms, applying QbD principles, risk analysis, and state-of-the-art technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Research, Drug Metabolism, Pharmacokinetics, and Toxicology on biopharmaceutical aspects.
- Ensure robust formulations and processes through optimization, scale-up, validation, and provision of documentation for Regulatory Authorities.
- Implement QbD principles consistently across the project portfolio.
- Represent Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) in internal project teams, external collaborations, and strategic tasks.
- Supervise scientific projects and develop new technologies.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry or related field.
- Minimum 10+ years of industry experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, preferably oral dosage forms.
- Expertise in QbD, biopharmaceuticals, statistical software, and PAT tools.
- Strong scientific leadership, creativity, problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of development activities, GLP, GMP regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, writing, coaching skills.
Further Information:
Salary range: $200,000 – $260,000
