Sr./Director, Toxicology

Recludix Pharma is a venture capital-funded biotechnology company located in San Diego, California and Cambridge, Massachusetts.  We are engaged in small molecule drug discovery for the treatment of targeted patient populations in autoimmune disease and oncology.  Recludix Pharma is looking for experienced candidates who desire to work in a dynamic early-stage startup environment as a member of our San Diego team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Toxicology leader to build our tox capabilities in support of our small molecule portfolio in inflammation and oncology through IND and development. This leader will be responsible for designing and executing our toxicology strategy, experiments and interpreting data across the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead all toxicology activities for the organization, including design, planning, execution, interpretation and reporting of scientific experiments.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for toxicology in inflammatory/autoimmune disease and oncology programs.
  • Design, manage and lead the execution of IND-enabling GLP tox studies through external partners.
  • Contribute to the nonclinical sections of regulatory filings.
  • Actively participate on program teams as a key representative of nonclinical sciences.

Qualifications:

  • PhD and 8+ years of industry experience in toxicology supporting programs transitioning into development.
  • Expertise in IND enabling and GLP tox studies.
  • Experience in inflammatory/autoimmune disease areas highly desirable
  • Strong scientific leadership, creativity, problem-solving abilities and a track record of managing external partners.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, coaching skills.

Further Information:

Salary range: $200,000 – $260,000
